SAFETY TRAINING COURSES

Purpose: To ensure that all site personnel undergo basic health and safety awareness training with the view to making a positive contribution to the prevention of accidents and avoidance of health hazards.
MANUAL HANDLING
Venue: COHORT Training Centre or On-Site
Duration: 1/2 day course. Theory and practical
Cost: €POA
Purpose: The course covers: The main manual handling risk areas at work, Your responsibilities to keep yourself safe on the job, Recommended manual handling methods, Practicing safe lifting
OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID
Venue: COHORT Training Centre or On-Site
Duration: 3 day course. Theory and practical, Fetac Level 5 Accredited
Cost: €350
Purpose: On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Provide necessary first aid within the workplace
- Deal with emergencies
- Implement essential life saving skills
- Successful participants will be registered as First Aiders
ABRASIVE WHEELS (Angle Grinder and Consaw)
Venue: COHORT Training Centre or On Site
Duration: 1/2 day course. Theory and practical
Cost: €POA
Purpose: Anyone using Angle Grinders, Bench Grinders or Consaws are required by law to do the “Mounting Abrasive Wheels” course. The course is assessed and an Abrasive Wheels Certificate is issued. This must be renewed every four years. It is the employer’s responsibility to check that everyone using these machines has the required training.
WORKING AT HEIGHTS
Venue: COHORT Training Centre or On-Site
Duration: 1/2 day course. Theory and practical
Cost: €POA
Purpose: This training is suitable for construction staff required to work at height. And will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to work safely and effectively at heights and basic rescue as required in accordance with working at heights legislation.
AGROCHEMICAL SAFETY
Venue: COHORT Training Centre or On-Site
Duration: 1/2 day course. Theory and practical
Cost: €POA
Purpose: The course covers: The main risk areas at work with regard to handling, storing and using agrochemicals.
MEWP TRAINING
Venue: COHORT Training Centre or On-Site
Duration: 1/2 day course. Theory and practical (Max 4 Participants)
Cost: €POA per course
Purpose: Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP's) are widely used in the workplace as a means of working at height safely. This course is delivered on your premises and is intended to provide participants with the skill and knowledge to operate an MEWP in a competent and safe manner in accordance with manufacturers operating instructions. MEWP training is designed to create and improve safety in regard to Mobile Elevated Work Platforms.
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
Operate machinery safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians.
